II.The Executive Board has directed our Board to Assist the Association
Moderator to help develop workshops with speakers for the Spring Session 2010 to be held at the Hitts Chapel GBC.
The
moderator has voiced his desire to have a pastor (for the main speaker)
who has led a congregation of 300-500 people (just above the growth
level of the churches in our Association) and workshops that will
address needs of our Association.(If of the General Baptist Denomination … fine, but outside of our denomination, if necessary …)
1.No main speakers came to mind but we will continue to search out possibilities.
Possibilities for Workshops:
·How to teach a Sunday School Class
·Developing a successful Youth Department or Keys to Leading Youth in Christian Living.
1.Call around Sep. 1-5 and ask:Did you get the letter in the mail regarding this year’s CE Workshop?
2.Ask them to announce the upcoming event AND to email information to others who may be interested in attending.
3.Cost is $15.00 per person or $90.00 per group.The
New Church Specialties Group normally charges $99.00 per person to
attend and we are blessed by being able to keep the cost down.
4.We will be calling again to follow up around Oct. 1st to verify attendance numbers to be sure we have adequate food provisions and room to accommodate.First come, first serve. If we run out of room, we will have to close pre-registration.
