5/27/2008   BTD                                                     $4,638.69

II.   An evaluation was done as to the good and bad of the February, 2007 Workshop with Dr. Gary Farley.

1.    Was the date a good date or were there concerns and do we need to adjust?

a.         After some discussion, the date seemed to work well and we have heard no negative feedback in regards to the date, so we will attempt to maintain that time slot for 2009.

2.   How was the length of the program itself?

a.         We did suffer some loss in attendance during the afternoon session, yet most of us felt it wasn’t too long.  In fact, we felt we should add an hour in the morning, starting @ 9:00 a.m. rather than to lengthen the afternoon.

3.   How was the format?

            a.         The speaker helped with the original format.

4.   The cost?

            a.         The total cost was to the Board was $836.94

5.   The Attendance?

a.         We had 108 total with 18 churches from MoArk and 6 guest churches represented.

6.   The Follow-up?

a.         We did not do as I intended … in terms of utilizing the Associational Website and using the database of names given to us at the Workshop.

7.   How was the promotion?

            a.         We utilized the Messenger.

b.         We sent letters out to the Pastors and followed up the first of February with postcards sent out as a reminder.

c.         We called the Churches at least twice.  We called a few days following the original letters being sent out and told them that we would call again around the 1st of February to get a number for food count.  * We felt this may have been the best effort in terms getting the word around.

d.         Ron Black added it to his weekly email addresses.

e.         Ministerial Alliances passed it around.

f.          We should do the same but maybe even add, free advertisement through the radio, newspaper, maybe cable?

8.   Food?

a.         Having the host church handle the food seems to work best.  We sill seek to have that person serve as a liaison to the committee.

9.   Survey?

a.         We will seek to have a “feedback” form to be filled out at the meeting (not at the end) sometime during the session.

III.        Location for February, 2009.

After some discussion regarding a location that would be central to our churches, have places to accommodate a speaker (hotel) and provide plenty of places to eat, a motion and second was made to have February 2009 C.E. Workshop at the First GBC of Kennett .

IV.       Subject & Speaker Suggestions for February, 2009 C. E. Workshop.

* Steve suggested that we need to provide resources after the workshop with a “Call to Action” in terms of what the people are able to take back.

·         Books, CD’s Follow-up meetings, Suggested ideas to implement.

POSSIBLE SPEAKERS:

1.   Kent mentioned that we need to contact General Baptist Ministries to see the possibilities of Speakers available.

2.   Ryan suggested, Ed Stetzer who wrote, “Breaking the Missional Code”  & “Turn Around Churches”.

3.  Jeff mentioned Fred Brittian who spoke in the past and Steve Naff from HQ.

4.   Steve suggested a local speaker who could be available to go to the local churches to follow up with the church if desired.

5.  Bryan mentioned the value of Name Recognition from outside our known denomination that is able to draw a crowd.

POSSIBLE SUBJECTS:

1.  Equipping our local leadership.

            a.         Biblical Knowledge and how do we equip them with what they                           need.

            b.         Training of our Sunday School / C.E. Teams.

            c.         Equipping Church Leadership.

2.  Missional Churches.

3.  We agreed that what the original purpose was is to have a major event (February  Workshop) once a year and then offer other options for Leadership Training, Sunday School Development, Marriage Enrichment, Adult Retreats, Spiritual Development, etc. 2 or 3 times each year.

4.         In our next meeting, we need to bring back possibilities of names and subjects.

Our Next Meeting:  Monday June 30, 2008 @ 6:00 p.m.  Kennett Church.
